Feedback from members past and present

Mrs J, Birmingham...

I took my son at 5yrs old to Tae Kwon-Do at Castle Vale with Anthony Brennan. It was really the intention of giving him a 'hobby' and to learn some self defense. We had no clue how TKD was going to become a passion and such a massive part of his life.

Jayden has benefited no end from training under Master Brennan. He has gained confidence, become fitter and made numerous new friends. Jayden has dyslexia and short term memory loss but he thrives under Master Brennans way of structured teaching.

Jayden is a quiet, shy boy but has been encouraged to enter many championships and even achieved medals and trophies. Master Brennan is friendly and approachable but at the same time requires respect and discipline.
A perfect combination in my opinion for a TKD instructor.

I would recommend ABTKD to anyone who is thinking of starting martial arts. My sons TKD journey has been nothing short of beneficial, positive and given him soo much to be proud of himself for. We will always support Anthony Brennan and will be shortly enrolling our young daughter into the ABTKD classes/family.

Mrs T, South Yardley...

Our son has been doing taekwondo with ABTKD since the age of 5 and we have watched him continually grow in confidence into the young man he is now become.

He has gained so many life experiences in taking part in TKD, from grading in front of Grand Master Oliver to taking part in the World Championships, just to name but one tournament he has attended.

ABTKD is more than a club it has become a TKD family. Everyone supports one another whether it be grading or taking part in a tournament you know you can rely on everyone there to support your child as well as their own. Our son loves adding another medal or trophy to his display!

Mr Brennan is a brilliant teacher! Discipline is ever present in classes but they are also fun and varied.  Our son loves it when there are races even with burpees included!

We look forward to what the future brings on his TKD journey.

Mr B, Hall Green...

A massive thank you to ABTKD for the excellent self defence lesson with my daughter Roisin today.

The techniques that you taught her were simple to learn and remember, easy to use and very effective.

Perhaps even more impressive was the concepts you taught her regarding anticipating danger and self empowering her to listen to and act upon her inner voice with regard to feeling safe and her personal space.

As a father of a young lady in yr6 who now wants to walk home from school on her own I now feel less anxious about this thanks to the tools that she has learnt from you today.

Thank you!

Mrs E, Solihull...

I wanted my children to join a martial arts class mainly to learn discipline, self defence and to gain in confidence. Anthony Brennan's Yardley club was recommended by a friend so we went to a demonstration and took up the offer of a free class.

Both my son and daughter joined the club, they grew in confidence and learned techniques to keep them safe when out and about, they entered competitions and progressed through the grades.

I also joined the club later on, not only did I lose weight and get fit, I also gained confidence which allowed me to compete and participate in demonstrations.

I particularly like the fact that the classes are structured and disciplined and although Anthony doesn't take any nonsense he has a personal approach, treating each student as an individual and encouraging everyone to reach their potential.

He lives by the tenants of Tae Kwon Do; courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit and expects the very same from his students. My daughter now has a son of her own and he has just started at the Acocks Green club, where Anthony still demonstrates the same interest in his students; he genuinely wants them to succeed and this is why as a family we have continued to support him.
